It’s one of those accepted theories that wherever you travel
it’s a good idea to find out where the locals go to eat
and enjoy themselves, and then head there yourself:- bargeorge
fits the bill precisely.
Bargeorge has now been open for over 10 years and
has consistently been the most popular bar and restaurant in Douglas.
It continues to be the first name that comes to mind when lunches,
dinners, a glass of wine or just a pint of beer are on the agenda.

The largest selection of wines in any bar on the island sets bargeorge
aside from anywhere else. Located in the centre of town, the former
church hall offers a unique and relaxed setting. It’s not
just the huge selection of drinks however that have given bargeorge
the enviable reputation it has today, the value-for-money and
consistently good food is another hallmark of a venue that has
a very special atmosphere.
Bookings aren’t necessary, but to be sure to avoid disappointment
it’s advisable to call on advance for a table, large or
small. Meals from the regularly changing menu are served all day,
from 12 noon until 10pm.
